3 tips for a successful outdoor wedding

FROM THE CEREMONY TO THE DINER…

1/ Set up the ceremony in the shade

Having an outdoor ceremony is my favorite thing however it can be quite tricky if some parameters haven’t been considered. As I always say, light is key… Managing it is essential for your wedding photos to look beautiful.

First of all, make sure that the shadow is thick, not spotted with light. Look on the floor and if there are patterns of light… forget it because you will be part in the shades, part in the sun and it will not look good.

2/ Think about the background and the environment around you.

Be mindful of the surroundings and unaesthetic items which could be in the frame. Go for wireless microphones if possible. Put speakers away from you to have a shot clean of sound system gear.

3/ Make your exit right.

It’s common for the couple to precede their guests in the alley before they come and congratulate you on the engagement you just made.

For that exit to be beautiful : Ask your MC to step aside, stay a bit in front of your crowd, salute them. Dip. Kiss. Lower the bouquet. Walk down the aisle. Stop. Kiss again if you want ! And proceed to the end of the aisle.

Outdoor dinner, what should I consider ?

Light the place up !

Bring light to the dinner table. Lots of candles, chandeliers… Whatever can set a beautiful ambiance for your wedding dinner and allow your photographer to take pictures without a flash in your faces all night long.
